Participants will learn how to apply the “Explain it Like I’m Five” strategy to help students further their understanding of complex concepts learnt throughout a course. This interactive teaching method gives learners the opportunity to synthesize concepts using simple language and drawings. This activity is impactful as it is diverse in nature, so it can be applied to a variety of different courses and class settings. This workshop will provide all the necessary details to help participants understand and effectively integrate this technique in their classrooms and creatively use different technologies for activities that are traditionally done using only pen and paper. After completing the workshop, you will have all of the information and tools required to understand and adapt this activity to your needs, regardless of your classroom setting!
